The New York Islanders acquired defenceman James Wisniewski from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional third round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Wisniewski, 26, finished second among Ducks blue-liners in scoring and seventh on the team with a career-high 30 points (three goals, 27 assists) in 69 games last season. "We see James as a key addition to our team and we feel our fans will connect with his style of play," said Islanders General Manager Garth Snow. "He is a solid puck-moving defenseman who can bring an added element of toughness to our blue-line." The Canton, Michigan native has split his pro career between the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks, playing in a total of 254 games. He has totaled 97 points (17 goals, 80 assists) with 264 penalty minutes.
